Pet Cruelty on the rise in UK |

 Shocking and upsetting figures by the RSPCA reveal that pet cruelty and mistreatment of pets in the UK is on the rise. The charity reported a 34 percent increase in convictions for cruelty to dogs, 15 percent increase for cats and even a rise in cruelty to pet rats. However, there was some good news – the charity reported that cruelty to horses increased by 13 percent a reduction of 33 per cent from last year.

If you have pets, you’ll know just how important we are to you. The love and comfort pets like us provide you and your family cannot be measured or equated easily into a financial equivalent. But, if we become ill, vets costs can run into the thousands, and many owners who have not insured their pets have no choice but to pay the costs or consider the unthinkable.  A new study suggests that parents could be putting their newborn child at risk of developing eczema if they own a cat and allow the cat near the baby. However, they also found that infants were not put at any additional risk.
