Pet Portraits are a very special way of honouring your furry or feathery friend.
My name is Sandra Palme - I'm an award-winning professional pet portrait and equine artist, specialising in handmade custom pet portraits mainly in pastels, charcoal, graphite and coloured pencils. I also offer watercolour pet paintings.
I would be happy to create a lasting memory of your dog, horse, pony, cat or any other pet from your favourite photos. It is my goal to capture your pet's personality and essence as well as their looks. International commissions are accepted. I also draw people and wildlife.

Bird Portraits

Your photos
Your custom pet portrait will be drawn from your photos. Choose the pose and look you love most about your pet! The better the photo, the better the artwork. All that is required is at least one good picture of your pet that you can e-mail or post. Here's some info on how to take a good reference photo.

How to commission a pet portrait
If you are thinking about ordering a painting or drawing, have a look at my information page and my price list and then contact me by filling in the contact form or by sending an e-mail. I will reply within 24 hours.

Once your pet portrait is completed, a scan will be e-mailed to you for approval. No payment is due until you are 100% happy with the artwork of your pet. I pride myself in producing quality artwork and guarantee a very good likeness of your pet.

Work in progress
Depending on the medium, I will draw your pet portrait within 2-4 weeks. I am happy to let you take part in the drawing process by scanning the work in progress (WIP). You can watch your portrait come to life on my blog or on a separate web page.

The media I use for my animal artwork are pastels - the most popular choice - but also charcoal, graphite, colored pencils and watercolors. I'm always happy to discuss which medium is the best choice for your pet portrait - this usually depends on the quality of the reference photos, the effect and the size of the portriat you require.
