By 'jump' we mean off a cliff!!!

-

A man on holiday from the Netherlands in Devon was rescued after sending a text to his girlfriend in Holland. He had spent the night at the foot of a cliff after he became stranded trying to save his dog. The 47 year old was walking from Clovelly to Hartland on Thursday when his dog, a pointer called Casper, fell down the cliff.

-

A search began after the owner of the B&B where he was staying contacted the local police when he had not come back after his walk. It was his Dutch girlfriend who provided the vital information regarding his whereabouts to Brixham Coastguard, following a text she had received from him.

-

The incident highlights the importance of keeping your dog on a lead near cliff edges. You should never put yourself at risk to rescue a dog and call the professionals to help rescue your pet.
