Geoff Lawton of Melksham, Wiltshire bought the 17-year-old koi from a specialist breeder in Japan. He has kept tightlipped about how much he paid but he has already suggested he could easily put a £30,000 price tag on the 90lbs specimen. A kagoi carp, which have orange or gold scales and can live for more than 40 years.

Geoff, runs the family-owned Rainbow Koi shop; where The ‘Big Girl’ can be seen splashing around the 8ft square show pool in the centre of the shop.
