A 30 second advertisement featuring a Jack Russel cowering and shaking has been defended by its creators, the motor company Volkswagen. - 286 viewers complained to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) that the dog appeared to have been mistreated. The viewers felt that they could not see how a happy and healthy dog could be made to behave like that if it wasn’t distressed. - The motor company defends its use of the two dogs that were used in the advert saying that they were very well trained and hence were not put under any stress. - Despite this, the dog appears in the front of the car and is not wearing a harness – responsible pet owners would know that a pet should be carried in the rear of a car and be appropriately safe guarded by way of a harness or guard. - Add as favourites (0) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 854
