It has been claimed to be a national first - newspapers across the country have been reporting the farm in the Staffordshire Moorlands that has begun offering pet weddings. From as little as £250, owners can give their pets a wedding that includes a cake, a minister, and a few farm pets as hired observers. - Fine Feathers Rare Breeds Farm, based in Stoke on Trent, began offering the service after the union of their own pets Oscar the Rottweiller and Freida, a Red Border Collie. - On their site, at www.petweddingsandpartners.co.uk, owner Sarie Goldstraw gives some useful pointers for owners wishing to give their pet that special day. She suggests that owners must ask themselves the following questions: - • Has your pet shown obvious affection for another? • Do you respect and recognise their feelings? • Would you like to give them the best day of their life, inviting others to enjoy the experience? • Are you committed enough to go through with the pet wedding? - - Kitty and Teddy, the My Pet Friends sites’ virtual pets, would never entertain the idea…or would they?
