A few months after the death of his bulldog, Bud, Hollywood star George Clooney (best known for his role as the gorgeous doctor is hit US show 'ER' ) is now mourning the loss of his pet pot-bellied pig Max. Max lived to the ripe old age of 18, a good innings seeing as they can live for up to 25 years.

Max led a life of comfort that we would expect any Hollywood pet to lead and would often be seen hanging around when George was filming or accompanying him to celebrity houses. The US media even suggested that Max came between at least two of George’s relationships with women, causing him to choose his pig over them.

Pigs are highly intelligent animals and in contrast to popular belief are very clean animals. As pets they are becoming increasingly popular in the UK due to the increase in specialist pig breeders and through films such as Babe.
