Ex-England Rugby Captain’s son mauled by dog |

 Six year old Enzo - son of ex-England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio is recovering after being mauled by the family's pet dog last week. The attack by their pet dog Como – a Rhodesian Ridgeback - left Enzo with facial wounds.

The attack took place at their home in West London and doctors say he will make a full recovery although some scars may take some time to heal.

It has been suggested that the dog attacked because of a tumour that is pressing against his brain and when touched on that part of the head, the pain was unbearable and made him react as he did. The dog has since been destroyed.

Rhodesian ridgebacks have a distinctive ridge of hair along the spine of their back that grows against the direction of the coat. They are known to be difficult to handle and are therefore not recommended for first time dog owners. They are powerful dogs and require professional dog training. They do appear aloof and offish with people they are not familiar with, but this is only because they are very loyal to their owners.
