Jose Mourinho was cautioned by police for obstructing them during an incident involving his pet Yorkshire Terrier yesterday. -
Officials accompanied by an officer from the Animal Health and Welfare Service went to an address in Belgravia, West London at 7.45pm yesterday to seize a dog to quarantine as they suspected it may have been taken abroad and back into Britain without the required jabs. The alleged offences fall under the Animal Health Act of 1981 and the Rabies Order of 1974. - An eye witness said he saw Mourinho grab the dog from officials and then let it loose into the street. Westminster City Council’s dog warden is reportedly searching for Mourinho's dog and has a good track record in finding missing dogs. - Mourinho was released without charge last night following a misunderstanding over the documents required for veterinary regulations. His spokesperson said that Mourinho had purchased the dog from a reputable dealer in England and has had all its vaccinations. He went on to say that full co-operation will be given to the authorities over any animal health issue. - Mourinho, 44, and his wife Tami named the dog Gullit, apparently after the former Chelsea Football Club player and Manager Ruud Gullit.
