Roberto measured 3ft 6ins from the tips of his back legs to his front paws, and weighed an astonishing 35lb (heavier than the average three-year-old child) and was thought to be the biggest rabbit in the world. That was until his wife Amy overtook him and now claims the title.

As well as being nearly half a stone heavier, Amy has also grown six inches longer than hubby Roberto. owner, Annette Edwards says that Amy eats a healthy diet of two apples, a handful of carrots, half a cabbage, fresh hay, and a dog size bowl of rabbit mix every day, at a total cost of nearly £10.

Guinness World Records do not keep biggest animal records any more because owners were deliberately over feeding their pets.
