Since going live with the ‘Guest Launch’, the team have been working hard to get some of the exciting features up and running, so as you can guess it’s been a busy time in the My Pet Friends office. But as pets we’ve been doing what we do best and that’s keeping everyone calm and helping them relax. At the end of a hard days work we do our bit by allowing them to pet us and take us for a walk – we’re so kind, what would they do without us? - Our owners have thought long and hard about what pet owners would want from the My Pet Friends site and they have created a sophisticated but easy to use site that offers a fantastic service to pet owners across the UK. One of the many great things is that it’s FREE to use - so you have no excuse not to come back and read our blog! - Some features are already available for you to use, and over the next few months the following features will also go live: - - News this is where you can read up-to-date current pet news articles and stories. An ideal way for pet owners and those in the pet industry to keep in the loop with these things. - Search you are already able to search for content on the site. At the moment there’s enough content to easily find what you want, but when the site fills up with information you’ll easily be able to find a page, or a service listed on My Pet Friends by using this search facility. - Pet directory This is one function we’re really excited about. This isn’t the usual service and business directory you’ll find on other sites; on My Pet Friends, business owners will be able to list their services for FREE, and when you search for them you’ll be able to see where they are located in relation to where you are, and if you’ve registered you can leave feedback ratings and comments – giving businesses that all important customer feedback and providing other customers with confidence in the services listed. You’ll also know what the most popular links are, because the 10 most popular searched for listings will make it to the top listings section of the site which can be seen on the right hand border on all sections of the site. - Kitty & Teddy’s Blog That’s this of course. We’ll bring you a pets take on the news, provide interesting observations and musings about the world around us, and let you know what the My Pet Friends team have been up to. We’ll also use this space to share information about anything else we feel may be of interest to you. - Kitty & Teddy’s Tips Where we’ll be bringing you fact sheets, hints, tips and guides about everything from health tips for your pet to buying products for them. - Forum Your chance to chat and discuss issues with other My Pet Friends registered users. - Message Board A notice board for lost and found messages, offers and wants, requests, research etc - Registration We’ve already mentioned that it’s FREE - and we should warn you that we’ll probably repeat this point over and over - because we’re so proud to say that registration is FREE and using the My Pet Friends site is entirely FREE. - By registering you will be able to create and manage your own FREE listing and create any other listings you want to include on the site. Registering also allows you to do many other things, including the opportunity to upload your own profile and one for your pet. Oh, and did we say this is all FREE? - Pet and owner profile By registering you can let other users know about you and your pet by adding details to your profile and if you want you can also upload some pictures (pictures and profiles are only viewable by other registered users – who have agreed to our Terms and Conditions). This is a great way to make friends with other My Pet Friends users. - Events Calendar Fancy attending a pet event this weekend? Use our calendar to find pet events around the UK. - Pet Polls We’ll be posing questions to the nation’s pet owners and bringing you the results. Useful information if you work in the pet industry or if you’re an inquistive pet owner. - Newsletter A regular e-newsletter delivered directly to your email inbox, keeping you up to date with pet news, offers, events and a whole lot more. - - So, that’s a quick overview of the key features that we’re building into the My Pet Friends site.
