We don’t need to remind you about the miserable weather we’ve had lately – all parts of the UK have been affected. Teddy and I love summer and usually spend loads of time outdoors soaking up the sun. In fact, it was only a few weeks ago that we reported the ‘heat wave’ in May and warned pet owners to be careful about the amount of time their pets spend in the sun. But who could have predicted the torrential storms and flooding that many parts of the UK has been hit with this week. - We’ve overheard people say this is great weather for ducks and fish – but for many owners of pet goldfish and coy carp, the floods have been devastating. Many pet owners were taken by surprise and floods came without warning. Dogs and cats were stranded in flood hit areas and owners were unable to protect fish kept in outdoor ponds who got swept away with the flood water. Some of these fish will have a chance to survive in the rivers and lakes that they eventually end up in, the unlucky ones who don’t make it to these safe havens will end up washed away into the sewerage system or may become stranded in gardens as the flood waters recede. - If you and your pets got caught up in the floods, we hope you safely got through it. Our condolences go out to those who lost pets during the floods. - ![]() - Add as favourites (0) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 209
