Trixie Launch Slow Feed Bowls
Written by MyPetFriends
Saturday, 12 February 2011

slow_feed_blue2.jpgNow available from Trixie is a specialist and affordable range of dog bowls called the Slow Feed. This cleverly designed bowl contains three large rounded protrusions inside the bowl designed to stop dogs from gulping their food and eating too fast. This concept of feeding is recommended to help dog’s digestion and reduce the chance of bloat. Using the Slow Feed, dogs are forced to pick at their food as they navigate around the crevices in the bowl. Slower gentle feeding stops the dog from swallowing excess air at meal times which can be problematic.

How to choose the right bed for your dog
Written by MyPetFriends
Wednesday, 02 February 2011
dog_on_bed.jpgJust like us, man’s best friends are altogether perkier when they’ve had a good sleep, which is why it’s important to pick out a dog bed which will adequately accommodate your pooch and their needs.
-
When selecting a sleep-friendly crib for your furry friend there are a number of factors you need to take into account, the first of these is the size of your dog. Even if your pet is a smaller breed the bed will need to have room for them to stretch out. In the case of larger breeds you may want to opt for one of the pillow-style mattresses which will allow them to stretch out their long limbs comfortably. Smaller dogs often like to nuzzle and nest in the smaller circular beds, but if you are buying a bed for a puppy don’t forget to take account of their future size or before long you will need to head out on another shopping trip!

How to prepare your home for a new pet
Written by MyPetFriends
Tuesday, 18 January 2011

dog_on_setee.jpgThe first time you bring home a new pet will be one that you will both remember forever – your new pet will be both nervous and excited by its new surroundings, and you will have to go to great lengths to ensure it is both happy and comfortable in its new settings.
-
It is important to remember just how nervous your new puppy or kitten is likely to be, and you should not push them into a room that they would be naturally apprehensive of at first. You should take special care to make any potential hazards or escape routes’ are sealed off or away from harm. Puppies and kittens are naturally inquisitive creatures, so keep an eye out for them whilst they explore and remove any dangers around them.
