happy_vets.jpgPetplan, the UK’s favourite pet insurance provider, is calling for pet owners to nominate their local veterinary stars for this year’s ‘Petplan Veterinary Awards 2011 in association with Veterinary Times’. Every year Petplan recognises the crucial role veterinary staff play in practice and also within the community.
-

Now into the 12th year of the awards Petplan is also giving away an exclusive opportunity for one person to win a pair of VIP tickets to attend the glittering awards ceremony in March 2011, in Birmingham, and a night’s stay at a top hotel.  All you have to do is make a nomination by visiting www.petplan.co.uk/vetawards.
-

There are four separate categories which you can nominate:
-

Vet of the Year
The winner of this award will be someone who combines clinical excellence with a consistently high level of customer care. The judges are looking for someone professional as well as approachable, a vet who demonstrates dedication and compassion in all aspects of their work.
-

Vet Nurse of the Year
Enthusiastic, organised and conscientious, the qualified vet nurse is dedicated to ensuring that time spent in practice is a positive experience for owners and their pets. Efficient yet friendly, they will be respected in and out of practice.
-

Vet Support Staff of the Year
The judges will be looking for a vet support staff member who is calm, compassionate, dedicated to their role and provides colleagues with the highest level of support. The vet support staff member nominated for this award could be an animal nursing assistant, receptionist or student vet nurse.
-

Practice of the Year
Does your practice have a motivated and committed team? Are they open to new ideas whilst providing a consistently high level of service? Do they offer a variety of services and are informative, professional and progressive? If so, we want to hear about them!

Alison Andrew, Petplan’s Marketing Manager, comments, “At Petplan, we work closely with vets and hear first hand about the incredible work that is carried out by the profession, so we believe that their invaluable care and support deserves special recognition. Nominating a veterinary staff member for an award is a fantastic way of expressing your appreciation for their hard work.”
-

Alison continues, “Last year, Petplan was inundated with over 1,800 nominations from across the UK, highlighting that more pet owners understand the great work vets do to help animals and their owners, and with 40% of pet-owners in the UK, stating that they trusted their vet more than their GP, it is not hard to see why the awards are so highly commended.”
-

Closing date for entries is 4th February 2011 and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Birmingham on 31st March 2011.
-

Winners will be selected based on the evidence given on the nomination forms by veterinary association presidents, so make sure you provide as much information as possible. To nominate today visit www.petplan.co.uk/vetawards.
