This year’s competition promises to be better than ever, with the chance for young groomers to qualify for YKC Crufts, a fantastic array of trade stands and fascinating free seminars. The judges have years of experience between them.

Three-time Irish Groomer of the Year, Jenny Hale is judging the Clipped and Scissored Terriers / Schnauzers and the Mixed and Misc class. Anita Bax has won the Golden Scissors Award in both the UK and America. She is judging Handstrip – any type of dog other than gundogs and the Standard Poodles class. Popular Dog World columnist Mary Ng is judging Hand Stripped and Clipped Gundogs, and Miniature and Toy Poodles. And another Irish champion, Natasja Hoekman is judging the Junior Competition.

The considerable number of sponsors shows the huge support in the pet community for this long-standing competition. The British Dog Grooming Association is especially grateful to Groomers Ltd for sponsoring Groomer of the Year, to Technik Technology for sponsoring the Advanced and Experienced Groups, to Aesculap for sponsoring the classes and also to Simpsons of Langley Ltd, City & Guilds NPTC, Absolutely Animals, Canine Design Academy of Grooming, Canine Comforts Ltd, Furminator and The Company of Animals.
