 Michelle Obama has finally revealed the breed of America's First Pet - a Portuguese Water Dog.

Originally a working dog used by fishermen in Portugal, Portuguese Water Dogs are a similar breed to Poodles, and make exceptional pets. They have a great temperament ideal for people with children. They have gained in popularity as they don’t shed hair.

The dog arrives in April as a result of a promise Mrs Obama made to her daughters Sasha and Malia, if her husband were elected.
