Residents of a Bradford city street have had postal deliveries stopped after a postman was attacked by a dog. They now have to make a six mile round trip to collect their post. Residents are angry at Royal Mail who have punished everyone, for the actions of one resident’s dog.
-
All 50 homes on Penfield Grove in Bradford received a letter informing residents that deliveries were being stopped because the owner of the Bull Mastiff had 'made no attempt to improve the situation'.
-
The dog's owner said it was usually tethered to a pole in the back garden, but claimed the family's smaller pet dog somehow managed to free the leash when the incident with the postman occurred.
-
The Royal Mail hope that deliveries will be resumed as possible and are discussing how the incident can be prevented in the future with the dog’s owners.
