pets_kissing.jpgSo, you’re a cat owner and you think you’re more intelligent than a dog owner – well, new research may suggest that you are.  It’s a revelation that will have some of you fighting like cat and dog.
-

According to a study by Dr Jane Murray from Bristol University, University graduates were more likely to favour cat ownership, possible because they work longer hours so have less time for taking pets on walks.  Dr Murray also concluded that 10.3 million homes in the UK have a cat, compared to 10.5 for dogs.  Amongst the other findings, Dr Murray found that families with young children were less likely to have dogs, perhaps because they lack the time to exercise a pet.
-

So, the research doesn’t identify a clear reason – and it appears that ownership of either a cat or a dog is due in the main to issues such as garden, rural location and pets fitting into our personal lifestyles.
