The BHS has given its support to the Blue Cross guidelines on Fireworks and Animals, an advice leaflet including a section on caring for horses and ponies during the firework season.
-
Sheila Hardy, BHS Senior Executive (Safety), said: “Fireworks can frighten even the most sensible of horses. The information offered on the BHS and Blue Cross websites describes measures that horse owners can take to minimise any discomfort or anxiety for their horses.”
-
The information is available at www.bluecross.org.uk and also in paper format from both the Blue Cross and the BHS.
-
Further information on fireworks and horses can be found on the BHS website at www.bhs.org.uk/Riding/Riding_Safely/Other_Dangers/Fireworks.aspx -
