We had a fantastic fortnight at our friends, and our owners had a great time on their cruise too. It was their first cruise and they came back glowing. They loves it so much that they have been recommending cruising to all their friends - the highlights were the food, the people and the places - but unfortunately no pets allowed.

…well, not us, our owners are. One of them is 40 years old today, so they’re both off on a cruise around the Canaries which means we’ll be staying at friends for the next two weeks.

Feels like we have been waiting for summer forever. Christmas is over and now there’s nothing but a big expanse of nothingness until the warmth of spring finally comes around. Easter is something to look forward to, but it’s still a few weeks away. The only thing that kept us going was Celebrity Big Brother, and that finished last night (PS. well done Shilpa Shetty, you were our favourite).

I’ve been very concerned about the recent bad press the canine community has been receiving following reports about 5 year old Ellie Lawrensen who was mauled to death by a Type of Pitt Bull Terrier at her grandmother’s house in the early hours of New Years day.

Our owners are a bit worse for wear this morning so we’ve kindly let them have a lie-in today which means we get a few special hours when the house is all ours - great. Snuggling up in front of the fire watching the movies we want to watch – now that’s the way to start 2007.

Merry Christmas to all My Pet Friends users. We’re having a wonderful day and hope you are too. Our owners gave Teddy a Santa’s hat (Kitty: it looks great contrasted against his beautiful white coat); and Kitty has been given a beautiful new cat scratching post (Teddy: at least the settee will have a break from her claws this Christmas…he…he…he).

I’m so excited – Christmas is just around the corner and it’s getting very festive here in the My Pet Friends office. We’ve put our tree up and despite me getting entangled up in the fairy lights, and Kitty’s fascination with the baubles, we’re all happy with the end product.
