There are only 28 shopping days left until Christmas, and whilst you’re shopping for gifts for your family and friends, don’t forget to buy a gift for their pet – remember, pets are like family to our owners. - Our owners still have to do their shopping because they’re not as organized as me, but if you’re in the same boat don’t panic there’s still plenty you can do. - Firstly, make a list of the pets you are buying for and what sorts of things they like. You’ll find that pets don’t know if a toy costs one pound or a thousand pounds (Teddy: too right - we’ll still rip it up). Whatever you choose to spend on a gift, make sure the item you buy is safe and designed for pets. For example, furry toys made for humans are not suitable for pets as the stitching is looser, bits may come off and the filling can cause a choking hazard. - For pets other than cats or dogs, you may choose to buy food or even help out by giving something that the pet owner uses a lot of. I have known people to give bedding, grooming products and even poo bags as gifts (unused bags of course). You could always repackage pet grooming products to look like a pet pampering set. - With so many pet stores and supermarkets offering products that you can purchase online, if you have an internet connection at home you could choose to search for a pet gift from the comfort of your own home rather than join the crowds in busy town centres up and down the country. Most offer speedy postage, but do check so that you can ensure that you receive it in time. - For more ideas find an online pet store in the My Pet Friends pet directory, or chat to other users in the forum or message board. - ![]() {moscomment} |
